A: Why is this desk so much more expensive than that one?
I mean, is it because this one is motorized?
Because, other than that, don't see much of a difference.
B: Well, yes. The motorized feature is a big reason. That and the quality of the material.
A: OK. Well, aside from the material, I don't think I'd really mind adjusting the height manually.
I mean, how much longer could that really take, right?
And it's not like I'm constantly going to be adjusting it. You know?
B: Right. But you will need to spin the lever, kind of like using an old pensil sharpener as opposed to simply holding down a button.
A: Big deal. I could use the exercise.
B: Sure. But then, you gotta think long term.
All that time and physical labor is going to add up over time.
Stuff like that gets really old really fast.
A: Ahhh. OK. I see what you mean.
I guess I never thought of it like that.
(I guess I never thought of it that way.)
B: Plus, you really can't underestimate the effect it'll have on the desk itself.
A: What effect?
B: Well, I could be wrong about this, but the mechanics that go into something like that could acually be more complex than something like this with a motor because there are more moving parts, meaning there are more things that could go wrong or break.
A: Why is this desk so much more expensive than that one?
I mean, is it because this one is motorized?
Because, other than that, don't see much of a difference.
B: Well, yes. The motorized feature is a big reason. That and the quality of the material.
* that and ~ : (that 앞의 내용 생략해서 포함) "(that 앞)의 기능과 ~"
A: OK. Well, aside from the material, I don't think I'd really mind adjusting the height manually.
I mean, how much longer could that really take, right?
* I'd: 아직 경험해 본 적이 없기 때문에 I don't 보다는 I'd를 씀
And it's not like I'm constantly going to be adjusting it. You know?
* It's not like: 이렇게 할 것도 아니잖아.
Can you imagine going back to driving a stick?
A: Ahhh. OK. I see what you mean.
I guess I never thought of it like that.
(= I guess I never thought of it that way.)
B: Plus, you really can't underestimate the effect it'll have on the desk itself.
A: What effect?
B: Well, I could be wrong about this, but the mechanics that go into something like that could acually be more complex than something like this with a motor
* I could be wrong about this:
because there are more moving parts, meaning there are more things that could go wrong or break.
